All Natural Lip Balm - From Scratch

Use lip balm quite frequently? How would you like to create your own? Here is an All Natural (from scratch) Lip Balm recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus.

What I found really interesting about this recipe is that is uses both beeswax and candellila wax. I have never seen a recipe before that used both - it is usually one or the other. Also too, that the recipe calls for wintergreen essential oil. It is my understanding that wintergreen essential oil is a dangerous one to use. For those who are knowledgeable in the essential oil arena could probably answer why this particular essential oil is dangerous. Can it be used in small amounts or what?

For those who are looking to make and sell their own lip balms, this recipe contains the INCI names for labeling if you use all of the ingredients on the list for this particular recipe.

I personally wouldn't use wintergreen in a lip balm as it is most often used for pain relief (think 'deep heat' or 'vapour rub') due to the high methyl salicate (spelling?) content which can be toxic if ingested. However, maybe we're taught to be overly cautious, wintergreen may give a nice minty flavour to the product...

Bajan Lily, Thanks for sharing. I heard about that about Wintergreen. I do not know why anyone would create an eo or sell it if those things occur.
