Strawberry Milkshake Cold Process Soap

I remember way back when I was a candysripper at local hospital and I worked in the gift shop. We had a display of flower that visitors could purchase for patients that they were about to visit.  On the display was an adorable arrangement of carnations in a soda glass that looked like a milkshake.  This cold process soap recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus called Strawberry Milkshake reminded me of those arrangements.

Layered Handmade Soap Kit & Tutorial

I have taken classes on how to make cold process soap from scratch.  I have always been intimated about replicating a recipe.  But I wanted to try to make cold process soap and I was steered to Soap Quick from Mission Peak Soap in Fremont.  I tried it two years ago and fell in love with it.  So I found this Layered Handmade Soap Kit and Tutorial from The Soap Queen that uses a similiar project.  So if you are like I was, then I would recommend trying their project.  So basically, layered soap is a classic design.  Depending on the technique, creating layers can be easy or difficult, according to The Soap Queen.  This recipe is made using a technique known as "spoon plop".  It is when the soap is plopped into the mold, which is very easy to do and it creates a completely different bar each time.

Grapefruit Lilac CP Soap Loaf

It is the middle of February and I cannot believe in just a few weeks it will be spring.  I love the smell of fresh flowers.  One of my favorite flowers are lilacs.  So I was happy to see a cold process soap recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus called Grapefruit Lilac CP Soap Loaf. This cold process soap recipe will make a double layer bar with the bottom layer being a purple lilac layer and the top layer a sweet and tart grapefruit scent.  The combination of the two scents complement each other beautifully.  It should take an hour to make and once you slice up your bars of soap....you should get (8) 5 oz. bars.
