Felted Christmas Sweater Ball Ornament Soaps by Holly Port

I have heard of felted soap and I always wanted to try it.  But I found this really cute Christmas felted soap that can be used as an ornament....Felted Christmas Sweater Ornament Soap. This project was written by Holly Port and can be seen on the Lovin' Soap's website.  Have you ever heard of Holly Port?  I was lucky enough to purchase her book titled Make it Fizz...A Guide to Making Bath Treats when The Nova Studio was located in Point Richmond.  She did teach a class at the studio, but I did not get a chance to meet her in person.  You may find other projects by Holly on You Tube, The Soap Queen and on her own site titled Lotion Bar Cafe.

Felted Soap Bars

I was planning to go to The Nova Studio's 8th anniversary party on September 3th, but unfortunately something came up and I was unable to attend. I was so looking forward to one of the demonstrations on how to make felted soap. I have seen felted soap demonstrated on a craft show before but I was really looking forward to seeing it live. But for now, these instructions on how to do Felted Soap Bars from The Soap King will have to do. I am interested in doing this project so to save money on yarn, I will check the next craft swap for any yarn that someone does not want.

Learn to Make Felted Soap

I never tried making felted soap before but I remember seeing it demonstrated before on one of the craft shows. I think it is rather an unique idea because it actually could be used as an exfoliator while you are showering. Has anyone ever used a felted bar a soap before? I would like to know what it feels like.

If you are interested in learning how to make felted soap, here are instructions which appears on the blog The Little Traveler's.

If you do not have any yarn to spare, you may want to ask any of your friends who do knit if they have any unwanted yarn for you to use.
