Lemon Turmeric Cold Process Soap

One of my favorite scented cold process soap happens to be Lemon Poppyseed.  I saw this great looking swirl recipe for Lemon Tumeric from Lovin's Soap. Lovin' Soap says that Tumeric is an easy natural colorant for a yellow or bright orange soap, and it pairs well with lemon essential oil.  I never knew that in India that Tumeric is used to treat troublesome skin.

Sea Sponge Cold Process Soap Tutorial

Sea Sponges add so much texture and lather to soap.  When it becomes wet, the sponges become quite soap and acts similiar to a wash cloth. The Soap Queen created this intermediate cold process project called Sea Sponge.  In addition to the sea sponges also includes the swirl technique.  I really like the swirl technique.  The first time I tried it, I only did two colors and it turned out really well. 

Turmeric Secret Swirl Soap Tutorial

I have seen a lot of different swirl techniques, but this is the first time I have seen a secret swirl technique. This recipe from The Soap Queen is called Turmeric Secret Swirl Soap which is for the advanced cold process soap maker.  To complete this recipe it will take you 60 minutes and yield about five pounds of soap.

Cotton Candy Swirl Cold Process Soap Tutorial

One of my favorite fragrance oil scents is Pink Sugar from Juniper Tree in Berkeley. This fragrance smells a lot like cotton candy.  Anyway, when I saw this cold process soap recipe from The Soap Queen called Cotton Candy Swirl Cold Process Soap , it brought memories of the county fair.

Vanilla Bean with Cocoa Swirl CP Soap

When I saw this cold process recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus called Vanilla Bean with Cocoa Swirl, I made me think of the the commercial from the 70's for Reese's Peanut Butter - You got chocolate in my peanut butter.  No!  You got peanut butter in my chocolate. But this case it is vanilla.  In this recipe, a fragrance oil called Vanilla Bean Noel is a favorite and it is so easy to blend with many other fragrances.  But adding it to cocoa power makes a yummy swirls of creamy brown when using white pigment powder for contrast.

Salted Caramel Macchiato CP Soap with Coconut Milk

Do you go to Starbuck's on a daily basis?  You would not believe that I found this recipe for cold process soap from Wholesale Supplies Plus called Salted Caramel Macchiate CP Soap with Coconut Milk. This beautifully caramel colored swirled soap has the look of your favorite hot beverage and has coconut milk to soften your skin.

The Dream Catcher Swirl Cold Process Soap

In cold process soap making there are so many swirl techniques to do that it hard to imagine that there could possibly be another one.  Guess what?  There is another one and it is called Dream Catcher.  The Dream Catcher Swirl tutorial appears on the Soap Queen site and if you have done any of the other swirl technique then you should not have a problem doing this one.  Have fun!

Circle Swirled Soap in Column Mold

Brambleberry is  launching their latest mold (drum roll), the Heavy Duty Column mold! Spoon Swirl Homemade Soap Recipe

Most of the cold process soapmakers have done or at least heard of  the swirl technique.  But here is an interesting recipe from Soap Making Essentials called Spoon Swirl Homemade Soap.  This fun and easy spoon swirl homemade soap recipe is made using the room temperature method and coloured with oxides, cocoa powder and mica. The spoon swirl design is achieved by dividing the soap up and coloring each in contrasting colours. Then, using a spoon, you literally spoon each color into the soap mold alternating colors until the soap mold is filled. The author of this batch decided to forgo using essential or fragrance oils. If you decide to use them be sure to use ones that are slow movers since you will need lots of time to get the soap into the soap mold. There is no water discount taken in this recipe.
