Solid Shea Butter Sugar Scrub Cube Recipe

Out of all of the classes I have taken through The Nova Studio, I have to say that there are a couple of recipes that are truly my favorite to make.  One of them is body balms/butters and the other is Sugar Scrub Cubes.  Here is one by Rebecca Dillon called Solid Shea Butter Sugar Scrub Cubes which appears on Rebecca's Deli News Blog from July 2011.  If you cannot find natural shea soap base, you probably can sub clear vegetable soap base instead.

Melon Sugar Scrub Cubes

One of my favorite classes that I took at The Nova Studio was Erin Pikor's scrubs class.  In this class. she showed us how to make single use sugar scrub cubes.  I love using this product because it is easy to travel with when I go house sitting plus I find them less messy than other scrubs. While looking for new recipes to share I found this Melon Sugar Scrub Cubes from Wholesale Supplies Plus. This recipe has a watermelon fragrance that definately reminds me of summer plus it has the blend of jojoba butter and coconut oil that will leave your skin soft and gently exfoliated.

Sugar Scrub Embedded Tutorial

It is been almost a year since I took the Sweet Sugar Scrubs class at The Nova Studio. My favorite recipe was the Sugar Cube Scrub recipe and I have gone through the product made in class. I am planning to make another batch of the sugar scrub.

If you like Erin Pikor's Sugar Cube Scrub recipes like I do, then you may like to take your sugar cube recipe to the next level by making these Embedded Sugar Scrubs by Soap Much Love. Since I found this recipe, I am eager to try making it. So I am going to kick it up a notch and add this recipe to my collection.

Recipe: Neopolitan Sugar Scrubs

When I was a kid, I always remember the Neopolitan Ice Sandwiches at the local store or would purchase from the ice cream man. Yes, I foundly remember Joe, the ice cream man, driving around our Belmont neighborhood selling scrumptious ice cream treats. When I saw this Neopolitan Sugar Scrub recipe on the Soap Queen's blog Soap and the Finer Things brought back those childhood memories and I thought I would share it with you. Because it may bring back the same memories for you. If you do not have a local store to purchase supplies to make the sugar scrubs, you can purchase all the supplies you need from Brambleberry.com.

If you would like to check out the video instructions for this recipe, Anne Marie has also shared this fantastic video on how to make these lovely sugar scrubs.

Sugar Scrub Cubes

Here is a Sugar Scrub Cubes recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus.

This recipe is interesting because it contains a persevative of Phenonip. When looking at the INCI Ingredient that Wholesale Supplies Plus provides there are listing of a couple of paraben ingredients: Methylparaben (and) Ethylparaben (and) Butylparaben (and) Propylparaben (and) Isobutylparaben which are contained in the perservative Phenonip. If you are concerned with parabens and their effects then you may consider a preservative that does not contain parabens. Now when I took the sugar scrubs class at The Nova Studio in September 2010, the recipe does not call for a preservative. So I guess it is up to you whether or not to add one or not. But, I am not planning to add one to the recipe that was given to us.
