Purple Carrot Hemp Lotion Bar
Awhile back I took a class from Joan Morais at The Nova Studio where we learned how to make lotion sticks. I really liked the idea of a lotion stick so I could apply a product on my cracked heels. I found this recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus called Purple Carrot Hemp Lotion Bar. I would consider this more of a stick than a bar since it is packaged in a tube. I also think it is interesting that the recipe has a preservative added. I have never added a preservative unless it has water in it. This product is no way a color purple. It is scented with a Purple Carrot fragrance oil that makes it purple. I have no idea what a purple carrot smells like but if you want to scent your product with a favorite scent then go ahead and make the substitution.

Festive Layered Lotion Bar
Even though the title of this recipe is Festive Layered Lotion Bar , from DIY Skincare, it is really more like a lotion stick. If by chance you do not like the colors used in this recipe, you can change them to fit your mood.

Bite Me Not Lotion Bar
Summer is just around the corner and most of us will be spending a lot of time outdoors. This means that we will be sharing the lovely outdoors with some insect pests such as mosquitoes. To help keep the bugs away without synthetic chemicals this summer by making your own all natural “bug off” lotion bar which appears on The Soap Queen's site. Anne Marie has customize a blend of some essential oils to keep bugs away and keep you smelling great all summer long. Even though this recipe is named a lotion bar I would characterize as a lotion stick since it is in a convenient tube. I like that it is packaged in a tube because it makes it super easy to pack in your carry all with less mess.

Lotion Bar Love

Layered Lotion Bar Love
Do you love lotions sticks? Well, I happened to find this Layered Lotion Bar Love tutorial on The Soap Queen's Blog - Soap and the Finer Things in Life. According to the instructions the recipe makes 10-14 tubes of lotion sticks, but the instructions do not say what size the push up tubes are. It is hard to say actually what the true size of the tubes are but my estimate may be 1-2 oz. Even though the recipe calls for the Summer Fling Fragrance Oil, you can be daring and find a different fragrance to your liking. But I have a feeling that the fragrance oil that was selected somehow corresponded to the colors of the end product. Remember you can purchase all supplies through Brambleberry.
These would be a cute gift to give someone who has never tried a lotion stick. I think this would be adorable to receive. I happened to be attracted to the beautiful pastel colors.

Strawberry Body Butter Stick
Do you love body butter but you are having trouble finding it in a travel version? How about trying this recipe for this Strawberry Body Butter Stick from Craftbits? If you love strawberries you will love this one, but if you don't then you can subsitute the strawberry fragrance oil with something more to your liking. If you are thinking what type of container to put this in, I would suggest getting the deodorant stick tubes from one of the online supplies like Wholesale Supplies Plus and then making a really cute label for it. But make sure that the container you purchase can accomodate this recipe. If it doesn't, then you will have to adjust the recipe.
