Lingonberry Rebatch Soap

It has been a while since I posted a rebatch soap recipe. I do not know why but maybe there are not as many rebatched recipes as there are cold process recipes.  Never heard of the rebatch technique?  Rebatching involves melting shredded cold process soap and customizing it with additives.  The Soap Queen recently posted the Lingonberry Rebatch Soap which happens to be made on the stovetop, but according to the Soap Queen you can make this recipe using a slow cooker or a double boiler.  The key is low and slow heat to prevent burning.

Wildflower Rebatch Soap Tutorial

To be honest, I  have never made a batch of rebatch soap.  I know you can reuse cold process soap and recreate a new batch.  In this Wildflower Rebatch Soap recipe from The Soap Queen, you can purchase already rebatched soap so that you do not have to work with lye.  This is an intermediate level project that takes about an hour to complete.  And it results about 3 pounds of soap.

Ombre Rebatch Layers Tutorial

In the past, I have found and posted tutorials on how to make ombre layered candles. To my surprise, I found this Ombre Rebatch Layered Soap tutorial from The Soap Queen that really takes rebatching and layering soap to a whole new level.  In this receipe you can simply purchase the cold process soap noodles from Brambleberry which is really conveinent if you do not have the space or time to do so. This is an intermediate level project that should take 30-45 mins to get about 6 bars of soap.  Have fun!

Green Tea Rebatch (Teabatch?)

Rebatch soap is another way of making soap. It is taking a previous bar of soap (usually a cold process bar) and shredding it then processing (usually melting it in a double boiler over the stove) to create it into a new bar of soap. If making soap by the rebatch method is your speciality or if you would like to try and make a batch, you may want to check out this tutorial that appears on the blog Soap and the Finer Things in Life called Green Tea Rebatch Soap. I have never made a bar of rebatch soap but would like to try it some day. For those who have made soap by this process, what are your thoughts?
