What do you want to know? Which products are worth making at home?
Since 2003, I have taken a lot of classes on how to make bath and body products at home. I must admit some of the supplies, ingredients and equipment has taken over my living space. There are some products that are easier to make in the home than others due to space constraints, but my favorite is probably lotions, bath salts, and bath bombs. I would love to do cold process soap but I just do not have the room to allow them to cure. But this question Which Products are worth making at home? was asked to Susan Barklay Nichols of Point of Interest. If you read the blog post, Susan gives you insight on this subject.
I have a B.A. in Mass Communication and took my first melt and pour soapmaking class in 2002. Since then I got hooked making my own bath and products. I have taken various courses in Soapmaking (Melt & Pour, Cold Process, Hot Process), lotion making (lotions, creams, lotion sticks), bath products (bath salts, body scrubs), body products (lip balm, body butters, body balms, whipped butters) and more. Most of all of my classes were taught by Lori Nova of The Nova Studio in Point Richmond, Ca. I have taught courses since 2004 at various locations. I have worked as an Event Coordinator at Michaels Redwood City.
