Himalayan Pink Salt Milk Bath

A few months back, I found a recipe for a Pink Himalayan Hot Process Soap recipe in an issue of Willow and Sage.  I have not tried it yet, but I am intimated to try it.  I am building my confidence to try it sometime in the future.  But in the meantime,, I found this Himalayan Pink Salt Milk Bath recipe from The Natural Beauty Workshop that is really to make. What attracted me to this recipe is that the pink salt brings a pretty color to bath products.  What is great is that it can be used to speckle bath bombs, color body scrubs or to make a layered milk bath more spectacular..  It has a gorgeous mottle array of warm pinks and red from the natural mineral content.  According to The Natural Beauty Workshop, it is packed with more than eighty beneficial trace minerals like Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Iron and Copper.  When added to bath formulations, it is believed to help encourage, balance skin and event soothe skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

DIY Sugar Cookie Body Butter

I will often purchase the NOW brand of essential oils to use in some of my bath and body products.  I was looking on their website to see if it would be cheaper to purchase directly from them or continue purchasing from my local Sprouts or Whole Foods.  I may purchase the vanilla essential oil since neither place sells them but for others, I will wait until the quarterly sale at Sprouts.  But in my research the NOW website has some recipes that I am going to share.  And the first one is Sugar Cookie Body Butter.  I love using body butters and I thought I would share this one.

DIY Sea Clay Face Mask

If you are looking for a recipe for a face mask, I found this one from The Soap Queen called Sea Clay Face Mask.  Since this mask contains plenty of clay,  it has a really nice thick texture.  It drys on your skin after about 10 to 15 mins which gives you the classic "dry" clay mask feeling.  If you have more normal or combination skin, The Soap Queen recommends decreasing the amount of sea clay to 1-2 ounces. But it will take a little long to dry on the skin.  She also recommends if you have extremely sensitive skin, having tea tree essential oil for 10-15 mins could be a little irratitatng.

DIY Moonlight Essence Spray Perfume

It has been many years since I took Lori Nova's perfume class when she taught through DeAnza Foothill College Community Education.  She used a more natural route by using carrier oils.  In the class, we made a solid perfume and a roll, But I do not recall making a spray version. In this recipe from the Soap Queen called Moonlight Essence Spray Perfume uses Isopropyl Myristate which is a synthetic product that creates a nice slip in lotions and helps absorb into the skin quickly.  It can be used in bath oils, massage oils and perfumes.  It can be used at 100% for a your perfume base.  I really like the bottle that is used for this recipe.
