Liquid Crystal Emulsifiers

Too be honest, I have not really experimented with emulsifiers since I normally use e-wax that I purchased from Wholesale Supplies Plus when I make lotions or creams.  But I found this posting on the Point of Interest site discussing Liquid Crystal Emulsifiers that is very interesting reading.  I did not know that conventional emulsifers can cause irritation to our skin by disrupting the skin's lipid barrier and that liquid crystal emulsions mimic the lipid by-layers in our stratum corneum, which means more actives or lipids from the lotions can penetrate our skin.  There is a lot more to learning from this posting so I am anxious to get into learning more about this subject.
